Opportunities at Downhill Dreams

Over the past few months we at Downhill Dreams have benefited from some downtime to help us reassess our aims and look to the future.

One thing that has become apparent during the corona-virus outbreak is that cycling has so many benefits to a society and the individuals within it. We have seen the government make various promises about making Britain more cycling friendly and hope that they might deliver on some of these!

Corona-Virus has also evidenced some of the problems in our industry. The streams of bike-shops who have had no issue taking order after order, without the capacity to fulfil them, and with no effort made to manage customers expectations.

So this brings us on to our place in this industry. Downhill Dreams have launched our fully-online bike accessories store, with a limited number of brands and suppliers. We are looking to grow this exponentially over the next six months finalising our supply and distribution contracts with some the world's leading cycling brands. This store will look to curate top quality parts and accessories and pass on the savings from our lean business model on to our customers (no expensive google ad campaigns, no costly showrooms, just good communication and great prices!).

In addition to our online store, Downhill Dreams will be supporting a separate social-enterprise, based initially in Chorley in Lancashire, for a Cycle-Hub incorporating a workshop area, where classes and tutorials will be held for local cyclists of all ages, a cyclist friendly cafe area and a fully cctv-monitored bike rack. We want our towns and cities to become more cycle-friendly and a huge part of this is giving people the confidence to leave their bikes in a secure place in town to allow them to walk around the centre.

In light of this, we are looking for individuals to join the project and help us drive Downhill Dreams to where it needs to be. We aren't looking to offer a salary at this stage, but business shares and being first-in-line for paid opportunities further down the line will be offered to those who can support us at this stage.
